Meet the Coaches
Jesse Barton
Head Coach
Coach Barton has over 24 years of experience coaching summer league, club, and high school swimming. He is a graduate of the University of Houston and swam collegiately at Ouachita Baptist University. Coach Barton has been teaching math and coaching the LD Bell HS swim team for the past 16 years. He has a passion for swimming and loves sharing that with swimmers of all ages.
Sydney Buhrow
Assistant Coach
Sydney was a four year member of the Trinity HS swim team where she served as team captain. She has four years of coaching experience with the Grapevine Gators. Sydney earned her bachelor's degree from The University of North Texas and will be teaching English next school year. She is looking forward to helping your child reach their swim goals and having fun this summer!
Sarah Drori
Assistant Coach
Howdy! My name is Sarah Drori. I’m graduating from Grapevine High School this May and attending Texas A&M in the fall (Gig’ Em Aggies!) This is my first year coaching Grapevine Gators and I am beyond thrilled to take on the role! As the daughter of a swim teacher, I’ve been in the water my whole life and am now graduating from my high school swim team after 4 years on varsity and 2 years as a Captain. I swam on Grapevine Gators in the summers between my high school years and absolutely loved it! I began lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons when I was 16 and I’m extremely passionate about both positions. I believe strongly that swimming is an important skill both physically and mentally, and it is my honor to promote this idea through coaching. You may know my sister, Naomi Drori, who was a former Gators coach and inspired me to follow in her footsteps this summer, which I am extremely excited to do!

Emily Bastian
Assistant Coach
Emily was a four year member of the LD Bell HS swim team. She is currently attending TCC. Emily also works as a lifeguard and water safety instructor at the NRH Centre. She is excited for the opportunity to spread her love of swimming!
Philip Duong

Hello everyone! My name is Philip Duong and I will be a coach for Gators this summer. I have been competitively swimming for over 10 years, and this will be my 3rd summer coach for the Gators. Let's have a great summer league!
Maycena Stedman
Assistant Coach
I have just completed my junior year of high school at LD Bell, where I have swam on the LD Bell Swim Team since my sophomore year. This past season, I was selected to be one of the captains by my team. I have also worked as a swim instructor for the last two years. My plans after high school are to attend college and get my major in education. I am super excited for this new opportunity and to meet everyone! I can't wait!
